Esthétique littéraire
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This new course aims to improve Master's students' analytical, technical and critical skills, so that they are better equipped to write their dissertations. It aims to develop their skills in analyzing literary texts. Accordingly, it will explore several aspects related to creative writing, including issues of form and content. First, it will discuss the criteria to be applied when studying texts. Next, it will study the conventions of different literary genres, before looking at aesthetic function, with particular emphasis on language. Narrative will also be addressed.
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
1. define the term aesthetics and the various related concepts
2. Analyze the beauty of literary texts based on the study of form and content, particularly literary genre, figures of speech, rhetorical devices, narrative, etc.
3. Develop a good, open-minded, eclectic approach to literary texts, based on general standards and work-specific codes.
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
